Kimberly Wilson YogaKimberly Wilson is an artist, author, and activist named among the top four yoga teachers in DC by Washingtonian. She is the creative director and founder of Tranquil Space, launched in her fourth-floor walk-up apartment in 1999. Tranquil Space has grown into a socially conscious haven named among the top 25 yoga studios in the world by Travel + Leisure.

Kimberly is humbly honored to have completed training ranging from Yin to Jivamukti with teachers David Swenson, Sharon Gannon, David Life, Cyndi Lee, Baron Baptiste, Joseph Le Page, Shiva Rea, and Sarah Powers. She holds Master's Degrees in Women's Studies and Social Work, penned Hip Tranquil Chick and Tranquilista, and is on the faculty at Kripalu. Kimberly has been profiled in various books: Starting From Scratch, Generation Earn, Transforming Scholarship, and Life Entrepreneurs.

When she's not bookstore browsing or secondhand shopping, you'll find her designing the eco-luxe TranquiliT lifestyle collection, sipping pots of tea, or leading retreats globally. Her work has been featured on Martha Stewart Living radio and in Daily Candy, Fit Yoga, Yoga Journal, Lucky, and Shape.

With a passion for do-gooding, Kimberly co-founded Tranquil Space Foundation to assist women and girls with finding their inner voice through yoga, creativity, and leadership. In 2008, she was honored as a New Leader in Philanthropy by Greater DC Cares.
